Lindsay boosted by Diclemente's play in net, beats St. Michaels 5-1

The Lindsay Muskies relied on the sparkling performance of Boyd Diclemente in net to grab a 5-1 win against the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Logan DeNoble was all over the ice for Lindsay, as he tallied two goals in the win. DeNoble scored on the power play at 3:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay and again while short handed 8:33 into the second to make the score 4-1 Lindsay.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:27 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Muskies were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Lindsay surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. The Muskies stifled St. Michaels' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lindsay kept the Buzzers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mark Manolescu made 28 saves on 33 shots.

Others who scored for Lindsay included Matthew Marchese, Keegan Cairns, and Connor Annett, who each put in one. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Brandon Washer, who had one and Joseph Vocino and Stefan von Engelbrechten, who contributed two each.

St. Michaels was led by A.J. Dorazio, who scored the team's only goal. Dorazio scored 3:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Michael Lata picked up the assist.

Boyd Diclemente made 27 saves for the Muskies on 28 shots. Lindsay registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For the Muskies, James Allen and Cairns were ejected from the contest. The Buzzers totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For St. Michaels, Luca Doctor was ejected from the game.
