Georgetown survives penalties, beats Buffalo, 4-1

The Georgetown Raiders, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Buffalo Jr. Sabres' power play opportunities and emerged with a 4-1 victory.

Georgetown was sparked by Blake Jones, who registered one goal. Jones scored on the power play 10:55 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when Buffalo's Aiden Salerno was sent off for tripping. Richard Court picked up the assist.

Georgetown forced the Jr. Sabres goalie Alex Connal to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Liam Clare also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Eric Eustace, Jordan Brown, Zack Dybowski, and Francois Cote, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Jr. Sabres average 3.2 goals per game.

The Raiders' Marc Williams stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Georgetown incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Connal rejected 36 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
