Team California survived a determined comeback attempt by Chicago Jr. Blackhawks on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Peter Kioussis put Team California up 3-1 in the third period, but Chicago Jr. Blackhawks pulled to within one on Jaxon Wilson's tally 10:51 into the third period. Team California was led by Kioussis, who had one goal. Kioussis scored 1:29 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Team California. Matthew Ng assisted on the tally. Team California put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Chicago Jr. Blackhawks to score on any of its three power plays. Team California also had goals scored by Brando Diantonio and Michael Karvelas, who scored one goal each. More assists for Team California came via Kyle Isenberg, who had one and Merril Steenari, who had two. Chicago Jr. Blackhawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Chicago Jr. Blackhawks ended up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. Chicago Jr. Blackhawks also got a goal from Tyler Pan as well. In addition, Chicago Jr. Blackhawks received assists from Jackson Haag and Will Moore, who each chipped in one. Team California's Nicholas Avakyan stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Team California incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Luke Brzezinski recorded 21 saves for Chicago Jr. Blackhawks.
