Caledonia rides Furlong to victory over St. Catharines, 3-1

Colin Furlong had a standout game with 33 saves, and the Caledonia Corvairs beat the St. Catharines Falcons 3-1.

The win by Caledonia clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

The Corvairs were led by Matt Quilty, who racked up one goal and one assist. Quilty scored 13:05 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Caledonia. Jordan Peacock provided the assist.

Caledonia's offense rang up 38 shots on St. Catharines' net. The Corvairs did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Caledonia also had goals scored by Cosimo Fontana and Jake Brown, who scored one goal each. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Connor Murphy, Ryan Blunt, and Kyler Nixon, who contributed one each.

The Falcons' offense rang up 34 shots on Caledonia's net. St. Catharines did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

The Falcons were led by Aaron Taylor, who scored the team's only goal. Taylor scored 1:07 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines.

The Corvairs registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Knick Dawe recorded 35 saves for St. Catharines. The Falcons registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
