Caledonia falls to St. Catharines in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Broderick Kelly gave the St. Catharines Falcons a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Caledonia Corvairs when he scored 12:27 into the extra period.

With the win, St. Catharines evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

The Falcons' penalty kill excelled, as St. Catharines gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

The Falcons were led by Kelly, who racked up one goal and one assist.

St. Catharines' offense rang up 43 shots on Caledonia's net.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Cam Blakely, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mark Rodgers also scored for St. Catharines. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Greg Jambrosich, Brandon Cercone, and Tyler Hildebrant, who contributed one each.

The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Catharines power plays. Caledonia forced the Falcons goalie Knick Dawe to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

The Corvairs were led by Cody Brown, who grabbed two goals. Brown scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Caledonia earned a power play opportunity when Mitch Bursey was put in the box for high sticking. Kyler Nixon provided the assist. Brown's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Caledonia with 2:14 left in the first period. More assists for Caledonia came via Ryan Blunt, who had one.

St. Catharines' Dawe stopped 46 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Falcons incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Colin Furlong recorded 40 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
