Feasey's big game bests Caledonia in 7-2 St. Catharines win

The St. Catharines Falcons' Brennan Feasey had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-2 win over the Caledonia Corvairs.

Feasey notched his first tally 8:51 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:59 into the second, at 13:39 into the third, and at 18:39 into the third.

The win gave St. Catharines a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Falcons forced Caledonia's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 37 shots and forcing 30 saves. Colin Furlong made 18 stops and Ian Sylves (APJ) made 12.

St. Catharines also got points from Tyler Jackson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Dillan Walker, who also finished with one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Mark Rodgers as well. More assists for St. Catharines came via Brad Col, Greg Jambrosich, Yanni Rallis, and Ryan Doucette, who contributed one each and Broderick Kelly and Brandon Cercone, who each chipped in two.

St. Catharines was unable to stop the Corvairs from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledonia eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Corvairs were helped by Jeffrey Malott, who registered one goal and one assist. Malott scored on the power play 5:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Caledonia had gained a power play chance when Mitch Bursey was whistled for high sticking. Connor Murphy picked up the assist. Caledonia additionally got points from Connor Patton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

The Falcons' Knick Dawe stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. St. Catharines incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Corvairs incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Caledonia ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chance MacDonald was ejected from the game.
