Chris Hulit had two goals to lead the Clarenville Caribous to a 5-1 victory over the Bentley Generals. Hulit found the back of the net 3:45 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Clarenville and again while on the power play 17:57 into the third to make the score 5-1 Clarenville.Clarenville was led by goalie Jason Churchill, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. Churchill certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.68 entering the contest. Clarenville also got points from Cam Fergus, who also registered one goal and one assist. Clarenville also had goals scored by Dustin Russell and Dale Sullivan, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Clarenville were Doug O Brien, Chad Earle, Ryan Desrosiers, and Matt Quinn, who each chipped in one and Peter Campbell and Andrew Sweetland, who contributed two each. Bentley forced the Caribous goalie Churchill to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Generals were led by Sean Robertston, who scored the team's only goal. Robertston scored on the power play 3:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bentley. Bentley had gotten the advantage when Clarenville's Hulit was sent off for slashing. Curtis Austring assisted on the tally. The Caribous incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Travis Yonkman took the loss and made 13 saves before being replaced by James Reid who made nine saves. The Generals incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
