Team OMHA White rolls over Team GTHL Blue, 5-2

Team OMHA White had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over Team GTHL Blue.

Team OMHA White's penalty kill excelled, as Team OMHA White gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Team OMHA White was paced by Rylee St. Onge, who had one goal. St. Onge scored 4:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Team OMHA White. Matthew Brassard picked up the assist.

Team OMHA White kept Team GTHL Blue's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kasimir Krol made 32 saves on 37 shots. Team OMHA White's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Team OMHA White's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Team OMHA White finished with 16 penalty minutes.

Team OMHA White also got points from Brassard, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Team OMHA White included Jake Payette, Latrell Harris, and Cameron Morrison, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Team OMHA White were Matthew Barnes, who had one and Jake ODonnell and Luke Burghardt, who contributed two each.

Team GTHL Blue's offense operated below its season average. Team GTHL Blue averages 4.8 goals per game. Team OMHA White was unable to stop Team GTHL Blue from sending pucks towards the net, and Team GTHL Blue eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Team GTHL Blue could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Team GTHL Blue was led by Michael McLeod, who finished with two goals. McLeod scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:04 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Team OMHA White. Team GTHL Blue had taken the advantage when Team OMHA White's Harris got sent off for roughing. Michael Pezzetta assisted on the tally. McLeod's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 Team OMHA White with 8:30 left in the third period. Cliff Pu provided the assist. In addition, Team GTHL Blue received assists from Joseph Mizzi, who had one.

Dylan Wells made 31 saves for Team OMHA White on 33 shots. Team OMHA White registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
