Toronto Lakeshore rides Buitenhuis to victory over Aurora, 3-1

Evan Buitenhuis had a standout game with 31 saves, and the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots beat the Aurora Tigers 3-1.

The win by Toronto Lakeshore clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Patriots were sparked by Luke Carter, who grabbed one goal. Carter scored 10:46 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore.

Toronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 36 shots on Aurora's net.

Toronto Lakeshore also had goals scored by Marcus Rose and Nathan Feric, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Tyler Currie and Kevin Shier, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Patriots to score on any of their three power plays. Toronto Lakeshore was unable to stop Aurora from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Aurora was led by Curtis Warren, who scored the team's only goal. Warren scored 13:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Drake Board provided the assist.

The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Andy Munroe made 33 saves for the Tigers on 35 shots. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
