GAME RECAP

Munroe leads Aurora to shutout victory over Toronto Lakeshore

Ice Sports - York Rink 1    Fri, Apr 18, 2014

Andy Munroe was superb between the pipes for the Aurora Tigers, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.

After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Toronto Lakeshore faces elimination next time out.

Dylan Sikura's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 5:30 in the third period. Calvin Higley assisted on the tally.

Aurora was led by Sikura, who tallied one goal.

The Patriots were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Toronto Lakeshore put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Tigers to score on any of their four power plays.

Munroe rejected 25 shots on goal for Aurora. The Patriots' Evan Buitenhuis stopped 37 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Toronto Lakeshore incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
