Aurora completes comeback, beats Toronto Lakeshore, 4-3

The Aurora Tigers climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, 4-3.

Aurora never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Tigers trailed 3-0 after a goal by Toronto Lakeshore's Doug Bonar at 11:54 in the first period. Aurora knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Eric Williams at 2:21 in the third period. The Tigers netted the game winner at 15:56 in the third period on a goal by Williams.

The win moved Aurora to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Williams had two goals and one assist to lead the Tigers. Williams scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:18 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Aurora had gotten the advantage when the Patriots' Andreas Tsogkas was sent off for interference. Dylan Sikura picked up the assist. Williams' next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 17:39 left in the third period. The Tigers had gained a power play chance when Niko Kovachis was whistled for cross checking. Sikura assisted on the tally.

Aurora forced Toronto Lakeshore goalie Evan Buitenhuis to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Others who scored for Aurora included Johnny Curran and Calvin Higley, who each put in one. More assists for Aurora came via Kory Kennedy and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Nathan Feric, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Kevin Shier, who had three.

Kevin Entmaa rejected 24 shots on goal for the Tigers. Aurora incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Buitenhuis recorded 30 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
