Bembridge's hat trick boosts Denver over Tulsa, 4-2

Garett Bembridge lifted the Denver Cutthroats to a 4-2 victory with a hat trick against the Tulsa Oilers.

Bembridge's first goal came 4:54 into the third period. He then added goals at 8:07 into the third and at 11:08 into the third.

With the win, Denver evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Cutthroats stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Denver also got points from Troy Schwab, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Denver were AJ Gale, who had four and Steve Kaunisto and Jean-Philipp Chabot, who each chipped in one.

The Oilers kept Denver's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kent Patterson made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Tulsa was helped by Ben Gordon, who racked up two goals. Gordon scored the first of his two goals at 3:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Menei assisted on the tally. Gordon's next tally made the score 2-2 with 14:44 left in the third period. Menei picked up the assist. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Adam Pleskach and Jake Obermeyer, who contributed one each.

The Cutthroats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Shane Madolora rejected 17 shots on goal for the Oilers. Tulsa incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
