Aurora hangs on, beats Kingston 3-1Aurora Community Centre Mon, Mar 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers beat the Kingston Voyageurs, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. A goal 19:27 into the first period by Robert Angiolella proved to be the game winner, and powered Aurora to the victory. Kory Kennedy picked up the assist.After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Kingston faces elimination next time out. The Voyageurs were stymied by the Tigers' netminder Kevin Entmaa, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Entmaa managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.64 prior to the game. Aurora was paced by Noah Delmas, who registered one goal. Delmas scored 51 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Aurora. Dylan Sikura provided the assist. Kingston was unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 54 shots on goal. Travis Barron also scored for Aurora. More assists for Aurora came via Taylor McCloy and Curtis Warren, who each chipped in one. The Voyageurs were led by Cole Bolton, who scored the team's only goal. Bolton scored 8:09 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. The Tigers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Sam Tanguay made 51 saves for Kingston on 54 shots. The Voyageurs totaled 51 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Team's Michael Stevens, Michael Casale, and Spencer Green were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
