Toronto Lakeshore boosted by Buitenhuis' play in net, beats Georgetown 2-1

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots relied on the sparkling performance of Evan Buitenhuis in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Georgetown Raiders.

The win by Toronto Lakeshore clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

The Patriots pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Toronto Lakeshore was led by Luke Carter, who racked up one goal. Carter scored 4:26 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Marcus Rose assisted on the tally.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Jacob Hayhurst, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Nicholas Ursitti, who had one.

Georgetown excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Raiders' offense rang up 33 shots on the Patriots' net.

Georgetown was led by Anthony Marra, who scored the team's only goal. Marra scored on the power play 6:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Raiders had gained a power play chance when Tyler Enns was whistled for holding. Liam Clare picked up the assist.

Buitenhuis recorded 32 saves for Toronto Lakeshore. For the Patriots, Tyler Currie was ejected from the game. Georgetown's Michael McNiven stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Raiders incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
