Toronto Lakeshore squeaks by Georgetown, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.

Toronto Lakeshore gained the winning advantage on a goal by Michael Prapavessis 19:02 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Georgetown faces elimination next time out.

The Patriots forced the Raiders goalie Michael McNiven to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Toronto Lakeshore was led by Marcus Rose, who finished with two goals. Rose scored the first of his two goals at 27 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore. Rose's next tally made the score 3-2 Toronto Lakeshore with 4:41 left in the second period. Cory Lauer picked up the assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Nathan Feric as well. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Kevin Shier, who had one and Andreas Tsogkas, who had two.

Georgetown's offense rang up 33 shots on the Patriots' net.

The Raiders were helped by Ryan Smith, who racked up two goals. Smith scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Georgetown had gotten the advantage when Toronto Lakeshore's Brandon Willett was sent off for high sticking. Anthony Marra assisted on the tally. Smith's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 10:52 left in the second period. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Shier was put in the box for slashing. Steve Hladin picked up the assist. Georgetown also got points from Hladin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Liam Clare, who had two.

Evan Buitenhuis rejected 30 shots on goal for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Michael McNiven made 29 saves for Georgetown on 33 shots. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
