Huge game by Shier boosts Toronto Lakeshore over Georgetown, 4-1

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots' Kevin Shier had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over the Georgetown Raiders.

Shier scored on the power play at 52 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore and again while 18:21 into the second to make the score 3-1 Toronto Lakeshore.

The win gave Toronto Lakeshore a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Toronto Lakeshore also had goals scored by Andreas Tsogkas and Nicholas Ursitti, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Marcus Rose, Doug Bonar, Rory Bell, Quinn Syrydiuk, and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one.

Georgetown was led by Ryan Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored on the power play 15:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. The Raiders had taken the advantage when the Patriots' Ursitti got sent off for tripping. Liam Clare assisted on the tally.

Toronto Lakeshore's Evan Buitenhuis stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Patriots incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Michael McNiven rejected 19 shots on goal for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
