Huge game by Edgar boosts Ottawa West Golden Knights over Almonte Thunder, 7-3

Phil Edgar had two goals and four assists to lead Ottawa West Golden Knights to a 7-3 victory over Almonte Thunder.

Edgar found the back of the net 17:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa West Golden Knights and again while on the power play 19:16 into the second to make the score 4-1 Ottawa West Golden Knights.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Almonte Thunder faces elimination next time out.

Ottawa West Golden Knights forced Almonte Thunder's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 39 shots and forcing 32 saves. Alex Daley made 17 stops and Richard Barr made 15. Ottawa West Golden Knights cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances.

Ottawa West Golden Knights additionally got points from Zac Rodier, who also had one goal and one assist, Dave Kilrea, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ethan Allard, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Ottawa West Golden Knights also got a goal from Jack Kilrea as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa West Golden Knights were Derrin Lehoux, who had three and Corey Tam, Jeff Gottzmann, Mike Darnowski, and Eric Wintjes, who contributed one each.
