Knoxville downs Louisiana in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Knoxville Ice Bears' Eric Satim scored 17:31 into overtime to beat the Louisiana IceGators, 3-2 (OT).

The win by Knoxville clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

Satim had two goals and one assist to lead the Ice Bears. Satim scored the first of his two goals short handed at 11:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Knoxville found itself down a man on Jon Higgins's roughing. Peter Neal picked up the assist. Satim's next tally short handed made the score 3-2 Knoxville with 2:29 left in overtime. Francis Drolet provided the assist.

Mark Van Vliet also scored for Knoxville. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Brad Pawlowski, who had one.

Louisiana excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The IceGators were helped by Chris Wilson, who racked up one goal. Wilson scored 8:25 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kirk Byczynski assisted on the tally. Louisiana also got a goal from Shawn McNeil as well. More assists for Louisiana came via Ron Cramer, who had one and Matt Robertson, who had two.

Bryan Hince rejected 20 shots on goal for the Ice Bears. Knoxville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Matt Zenzola made 22 saves for Louisiana on 25 shots. The IceGators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
