Smiths Falls downs Ottawa in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Smiths Falls Bears pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Ottawa Senators on a clutch goal by Victor Beaulac.

With the win, Smiths Falls evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Beaulac had two goals to lead the Bears to victory. Beaulac scored at 29 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls and again while on the power play 4:53 into the fourth to make the score 3-2 Smiths Falls.

Smiths Falls stifled Ottawa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bears kept the Senators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 33 saves on 36 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Smiths Falls also got points from Stefano Momesso, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Karson McCartney, who had two and Ryan Duhaime, Chris King, and Taylor Henry, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa was led by Yannick Crete, who racked up one goal and one assist. Crete scored 6:45 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Mike Martin assisted on the tally. Ryan Collins also scored for Ottawa. More assists for Ottawa came via Michael Evelyn, who had two.

Michael Pinios recorded 28 saves for Smiths Falls. The Bears incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Senators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
