WHITBY rips BURLINGTON, 5-0

WHITBY had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over BURLINGTON.

WHITBY was led by Rhyen McGill, who grabbed one goal and one assist. McGill scored 6:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY. Lauren Williams (A) picked up the assist.

WHITBY kept BURLINGTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kyra OBrien made 41 saves on 46 shots. WHITBY did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

WHITBY additionally got points from Madison Badeau, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Cassidy Vinkle, who also registered one goal and one assist. WHITBY also got a goal from Alana Sims as well. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Meagan Picco, who had two and Kirsten Welsh and Megan Sullivan (A), who contributed one each.

WHITBY's defense shut down BURLINGTON's forwards for much of the game, and BURLINGTON got off only 14 shots during the contest.

WHITBY took out Rachel McQuigge (PU) after she had made six saves and installed Hannah Baker in goal, where she finished with eight saves and the win. WHITBY registered one goal on three power play opportunities. BURLINGTON incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
