Aurora survives Cobourg comeback, wins 3-2

The Cobourg Cougars tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Aurora Tigers held on for a 3-2 victory.

Aurora made the score 3-1 on a goal by Liam Neuman at 8:39 in the third period, and Cobourg got as close as 3-2 when Connor Armour scored 9:44 into the third period.

The win by the Tigers broke a deadlock and gave Aurora a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

The Tigers were led by Neuman, who racked up one goal.

The Cougars were unable to stop Aurora from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Aurora did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Others who scored for Aurora included Adam DiBrina and Calvin Higley, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Taylor McCloy, Dylan Sikura, Michael Laidley, Johnny Curran, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg forced the Tigers goalie Kevin Entmaa to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Liam Grande also scored for Cobourg. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Alex D Oliveira and Mason Marchment, who contributed one each.

Kevin Entmaa made 30 saves for Aurora on 32 shots. The Tigers registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Nathan Perry recorded 28 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
