Tonge leads Kingston over Trenton, 9-7

The Kingston Voyageurs' Alex Tonge had a big offensive game, scoring five goals and contributing one assist in his team's 9-7 win over the Trenton Golden Hawks.

Tonge's first goal came 5:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:49 into the second, at 18:57 into the second, at 4:26 into the third, and at 19:21 into the third.

The win by Kingston clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Voyageurs took advantage of Trenton's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities.

Kingston additionally got points from Brandon OQuinn, who also registered one goal and two assists. Kingston also got a goal from Adam Brady as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Michael Crocock, who had two, Spencer Green, who had three, Michael Casale, who had four, and Michael Stevens and Jarret Kup, who each chipped in one.

The defensemen of the Golden Hawks were also effective in Kingston's zone, and came away with two goals.

Trenton was helped by Zach de Concilys, who racked up two goals. De Concilys scored the first of his two goals at 4:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. de Concilys' next tally made the score 7-5 Kingston with 12:55 left in the third period. Jason Zaleski picked up the assist. Trenton also got points from Chrisitian Lloyd, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Trenton included Tyler Mayea, Mathew Thompson, Tyler Donaldson, and Bobby Polachek, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Danny Liscio and Hunter Fargey, who each chipped in one.

Sam Tanguay made 13 saves before being replaced by Alex Brooks-Potts, who took the win and made 10 saves. The Voyageurs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Denny Dubblestyne recorded 16 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
