Brisbane Goannas downs Sydney Sirens, 3-1

Brittany Parkyn had one point to lead Brisbane Goannas to a 3-1 victory over Sydney Sirens.

Brisbane Goannas' offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.7 shots per game it averages.

Brisbane Goannas also had goals scored by Angela Govier and Christina Badgley, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Brisbane Goannas were Kelly Costa, who had two and Megan Gilchrist and Hannah Westbrook, who contributed one a piece.

Sydney Sirens put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brisbane Goannas to score on any of its three power plays. With 25 shots on target during the contest, Sydney Sirens exceeded the 2.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Sydney Sirens was led by Allison Mina, who scored the team's only goal. Mina scored 10:10 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Remi Harvey provided the assist.

Keesha Atkins recorded 24 saves for Brisbane Goannas. Brisbane Goannas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sydney Sirens' Sera Dogramaci stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that she faced. Sydney Sirens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
