Paris downs Ayr, 5-2

Ian Fowler had two points to lead the Paris Mounties to a 5-2 victory over the Ayr Centennials.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Ayr faces elimination next time out.

Paris excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Paris also got points from Zack Skubnik, who also registered one goal and one assist and Clayton Chalmers, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Paris included Richard Brooks and Merrit Crumback, who scored one goal each. In addition, Paris received assists from Matthew Small, who had one.

The Centennials were led by Jeff Howlett, who finished with one goal and one assist. Howlett scored 10:53 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Richard picked up the assist. Ayr also got a goal from Connor MacLean as well. More assists for Ayr came via Anthony Pullia, who had one.

Zach Shomphe rejected 18 shots on goal for the Mounties. Paris totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-11 on the power play. Mitch Figueirdo made 23 saves for Ayr on 27 shots. The Centennials incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
