The Pittsburgh Vengeance survived a determined comeback attempt by the Michigan Mountain Cats on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Tom Diffendal put Pittsburgh up 4-1 in the second period, but Michigan pulled to within one on Jacob Gleason's tally 16:52 into the third period.

The Vengeance kept the Mountain Cats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Lopez made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Pittsburgh was helped by Chris McCambridge, who tallied one goal. McCambridge scored 14:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pittsburgh. Tyler Speis picked up the assist. Pittsburgh additionally got points from Diffendal, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Pittsburgh also had goals scored by Gavin Cummings and Nicholas Santiago, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Alex Berardinelli, who had two and Thomas Leistner and Eli Lynn, who each chipped in one.

Michigan was led by Abram Prince, who had one goal and one assist. Prince scored short handed 16:06 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Pittsburgh. A cross checking call on Max Vance put the Mountain Cats on the penalty kill. Michigan also got a goal from Shawn Cornock as well. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Kenny Forton and Austin Pelton, who contributed one a piece.

Tyler Geloneck rejected 16 shots on goal for the Vengeance. Pittsburgh ended with no penalties and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Michigan incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
