DURHAM WEST downs OAKVILLE in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

DURHAM WEST pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over OAKVILLE on a clutch goal by Katrina Manoukarakis.

The win by DURHAM WEST clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

DURHAM WEST was paced by Manoukarakis, who grabbed one goal. Manoukarakis scored 4:25 into overtime to make the score 4-3 DURHAM WEST. Kennedy Marchment (C) picked up the assist.

DURHAM WEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OAKVILLE to score on any of its four power plays.

DURHAM WEST additionally got points from Marchment (C), who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for DURHAM WEST included Emily Jukosky and Becki Bowering, who scored one goal each. More assists for DURHAM WEST came via Megan Quinn (A-home), who had two and Claire Balas, Claudia Black, Hayley Flynn, Alyssa Gee, and Lindsay Johnston (A), who contributed one a piece.

OAKVILLE was helped by Jamie Watson, who tallied one goal. Watson scored 52 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 OAKVILLE. Jennifer MacAskill (C) assisted on the tally. OAKVILLE also got points from Jordan Martin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Christina Putigna also scored for OAKVILLE. In addition, OAKVILLE received assists from Lauren Patterson and Kirsten Miller, who each chipped in one.

DURHAM WEST took out Melissa Black after she had made four saves and installed Stephanie Sluys in goal, where she finished with 15 saves and the win. DURHAM WEST incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Daniela Paniccia recorded 23 saves for OAKVILLE. OAKVILLE incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
