Totino-Grace falls to St. Cloud Cathedral in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Totino-Grace Eagles on a clutch goal by Erik Gadbois.

The win gave St. Cloud Cathedral a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Crusaders came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. St. Cloud Cathedral was down 3-1 after a goal by Totino-Grace's Joey Brey at 15:09 in the first period. The Crusaders knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Leo Lommel at 16:46 in the second period.

Matt Fritz and Gadbois provided the spark for St. Cloud Cathedral, combining for three goals and one assist. Fritz finished with two goals and one assist and Gadbois also added one goal.

The Crusaders did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Cloud Cathedral capitalized on the Eagles' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

More assists for St. Cloud Cathedral came via Chandler Karki, who had one, Will Hammer, who had two, and Logan Neu, who had three.

Totino-Grace additionally got points from Blake Vagle, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Totino-Grace received assists from Kyle Brodt, Brennan Swan, and Kai Barber, who contributed one a piece.

Zach Fritz made 25 saves for the Crusaders on 28 shots. Dominic Wippler recorded 21 saves for Totino-Grace. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
