TORONTO rips LONDON, 5-1

TORONTO had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over LONDON.

The win by TORONTO clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

TORONTO's Ally Sarna was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Sarna certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 1.2 entering the contest.

TORONTO pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes.

TORONTO stifled LONDON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

TORONTO was helped by Laura Ball, who registered one goal. Ball scored 12:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Jessica Gazzola (A) assisted on the tally. TORONTO also got points from Gazzola (A), who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. TORONTO also got a goal from Taytum Clairmont as well. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Lauren Wildfang (C-away), who had two and Breanne Wilson-Bennett (C-home), Grace Wickens, Connor Galway, Amanda Pantaleo (A), Cora Constantinou, and Loren Gabel, who contributed one a piece.

LONDON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four TORONTO power plays.

LONDON was led by Nicole Miners, who scored the team's only goal. Miners scored 11:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jenna Gray (A) picked up the assist.

Kassi Welch made 20 saves for LONDON on 25 shots. LONDON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
