Huge game by Wilson-Bennett (C-home) boosts TORONTO over LONDON, 7-1

TORONTO's Breanne Wilson-Bennett (C-home) had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in her team's 7-1 win over LONDON.

Wilson-Bennett (C-home) scored 3:38 into the second period to make the score 2-0 TORONTO. Jessie Eldridge assisted on the tally. Wilson-Bennett (C-home) dished an assist on Cora Constantinou's goal that made the score 3-1 TORONTO at 10:50 into the second period. He then added assists on Laura Ball's goal at 12:22 into the third and on Constantinou's goal at 18:34 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, LONDON faces elimination next time out.

TORONTO made LONDON's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. Kassi Welch made 24 stops and Lauren Dubie made four. TORONTO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three LONDON power plays.

TORONTO also got points from Jessica Gazzola (A), who also finished with one goal and one assist and Constantinou, who also registered two goals and one assist. TORONTO also had goals scored by Sabrina Repaci and Sarah Knee, who scored one goal each. More assists for TORONTO came via MacKenzie MacNeil (A), Grace Wickens, and Amanda Pantaleo (A), who each chipped in one and Taytum Clairmont and Loren Gabel, who contributed two a piece.

LONDON was led by Jennifer Semkowski (A), who scored the team's only goal. Semkowski (A) scored 3:48 into the second period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Michaeline Falla (C) provided the assist.

Sarah Stephens rejected 24 shots on goal for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. LONDON incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
