Wilson-Bennett (C-home) lifts TORONTO over LONDON, 4-1

TORONTO relied on the scoring touch of Breanne Wilson-Bennett (C-home), who netted two goals, to beat LONDON, 4-1.

Wilson-Bennett (C-home) scored at 9:43 into the third period to make the score 2-0 TORONTO and again while 13:49 into the third to make the score 4-1 TORONTO.

The win gave TORONTO a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. TORONTO kept LONDON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kassi Welch made 28 saves on 32 shots.

TORONTO additionally got points from Taytum Clairmont, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. TORONTO also got a goal from MacKenzie MacNeil (A) as well. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Connor Galway, Jessie Eldridge, Lauren Wildfang (C-away), Kaitlin Tse, Amanda Pantaleo (A), Cora Constantinou, and Loren Gabel, who each chipped in one.

LONDON was led by Kaylie Dennis (A), who scored the team's only goal. Dennis (A) scored 12:07 into the third period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO.

Ally Sarna recorded 17 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. LONDON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
