Buffalo downs Mississauga, 4-1

Nick Desimone had one point to lead the Buffalo Jr. Sabres to a 4-1 victory over the Mississauga Chargers.

The win gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Buffalo also got points from Ryan Schmelzer, who also registered one goal and one assist and Michael Ederer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Max Mikowski as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Josh Gabriel, who had two and Dennis Gilbert and Ben Casale, who contributed one each.

Mississauga was led by Zack Lansfield, who scored the team's only goal. Lansfield scored 10:09 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ayrton Valente picked up the assist.

Joseph Pianta made 21 saves for the Jr. Sabres on 22 shots. Buffalo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Austin Washkurak rejected 26 shots on goal for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Chargers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Tetley was ejected from the game.
