MISSISSAUGA holds on for 3-1 win against BURLINGTON

BURLINGTON tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but MISSISSAUGA would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

MISSISSAUGA made the score 3-0 on a goal by Caitlyn Sadowy at 13:51 in the third period, and BURLINGTON got as close as 3-1 when Jessie Rietveld scored 19:50 into the third period.

The win by MISSISSAUGA clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

MISSISSAUGA was led by goalie Alysia DaSilva, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, DaSilva will actually see her goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.6 entering the contest.

MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five BURLINGTON power plays.

MISSISSAUGA was led by Victoria Bach, who registered one goal and one assist. Bach scored 12:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 MISSISSAUGA. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Kelly Mariani as well. More assists for MISSISSAUGA came via Nadine Edney, who had one and Kristen Lucas, who had two.

In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Logan Boyd and Darcy Henderson, who contributed one a piece.

MISSISSAUGA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kyra OBrien rejected 25 shots on goal for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
