Edney's big game bests BURLINGTON in 4-0 MISSISSAUGA win

MISSISSAUGA had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over BURLINGTON.

The win gave MISSISSAUGA a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

Nadine Edney had two goals and one assist to lead MISSISSAUGA. Edney scored the first of her two goals at 3:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Victoria Bach assisted on the tally. Edney's next tally made the score 4-0 MISSISSAUGA with 15:18 left in the third period. Lindsay Agnew picked up the assist.

MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three BURLINGTON power plays. MISSISSAUGA forced BURLINGTON goalie Kyra OBrien to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

MISSISSAUGA also got points from Kaitlin Lowy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Caitlyn Sadowy also scored for MISSISSAUGA. More assists for MISSISSAUGA came via Stephanie Sucharda and Kelly Mariani, who contributed one a piece.

Alysia DaSilva recorded 19 saves for MISSISSAUGA. MISSISSAUGA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. OBrien rejected 45 shots on goal for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
