BRAMPTON beats WATERLOO 3-1 after comeback scare

WATERLOO tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but BRAMPTON held on for a 3-1 victory.

A goal by Lindsey Smith put BRAMPTON up 3-0 in the second period, but WATERLOO pulled to within two on Hannah Davidson (A)'s tally 15:15 into the third period.

After the loss made the series score 2-1 in the best of five series, WATERLOO faces elimination next time out.

BRAMPTON was led by goalie Isabelle Hunter, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Hunter will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 2.33.

BRAMPTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its three power plays.

BRAMPTON was led by Christina Ieradi (A), who registered one goal and one assist. Ieradi (A) scored 1:42 into the second period to make the score 2-0 BRAMPTON. Vanessa Tavares (C) picked up the assist. BRAMPTON also got a goal from Meagan OBrien as well. More assists for BRAMPTON came via Brooke Hartwick, Jillian Battista, Jessica Geddes, and Chelsea Ball, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for WATERLOO were Kendra Puttick and Lindsay Dales, who contributed one a piece.

BRAMPTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. WATERLOO's Cohen Myers stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that she faced. WATERLOO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
