Laura Irwin gave WATERLOO a 3-2 (OT) victory over BRAMPTON when she scored 2:52 into the extra period.

The win gave WATERLOO a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

WATERLOO was paced by Irwin, who tallied one goal.

BRAMPTON was unable to stop WATERLOO from sending pucks towards the net, and WATERLOO eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

WATERLOO also had goals scored by Kendra Puttick and Mary Worndl (A), who each put in one. More assists for WATERLOO came via Hannah Davidson (A), Amanda Chiarello, and Jocelyn Lubert, who each chipped in one.

BRAMPTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four WATERLOO power plays. BRAMPTON's offense rang up 38 shots on WATERLOO's net.
