STONEY CREEK uses big games from Smith and Quaranta (A)home) to down CAMBRIDGE, 6-3

Behind two goals from Rachael Smith and one goal and two assists from Sarah Quaranta (A)home), STONEY CREEK downed CAMBRIDGE 6-3.

Smith scored the first of her two goals at 2:05 into the first period to make the score 2-1 STONEY CREEK. Melissa Millar provided the assist. Smith's next tally made the score 3-2 STONEY CREEK with 14:14 left in the second period. Quaranta (A)home) assisted on the tally. Quaranta (A)home) scored 12:56 into the third period to make the score 5-3 STONEY CREEK. Paige Jackson provided the assist.

The win by STONEY CREEK clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

STONEY CREEK also got points from Kristin ONeill, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Madison Field (A)home), who also finished with one goal and one assist, Rosie Heffernan (A)away), who also registered one goal and one assist, and Quaranta (A)home), who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Taylor McMahon, who had two and Sarah Olsen and Kristina Kocsis (C), who each chipped in one.

CAMBRIDGE was helped by Miranda Lantz, who had two goals. Lantz scored the first of her two goals at 1:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Rachel Holden assisted on the tally. Lantz's next tally made the score 4-3 STONEY CREEK with 14:17 left in the third period. Emma Davidson (A) picked up the assist. CAMBRIDGE additionally got points from Holden, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for CAMBRIDGE were Morgan Rolph and Amanda McClure (C), who contributed one a piece.

Sarah McDonnell made 17 saves for STONEY CREEK on 20 shots. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. CAMBRIDGE's starting goalie, Julia Vandyk, made 15 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Lauren Webber, who stopped six shots. CAMBRIDGE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
