Trenton downs Whitby, 3-1

Nick Santoro racked up one point to lead the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 3-1 victory over the Whitby Fury.

With the win, Trenton evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Trenton also had goals scored by Bobby Polachek and Ryan Kinsella, who each put in one. In addition, Trenton received assists from Tyler Mayea, Fabrizio Ricci, and Danny Liscio, who contributed one each.

Whitby did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

The Fury were led by Taylor Best, who scored the team's only goal. Best scored 12:02 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Marcus Crawford assisted on the tally.

Denny Dubblestyne recorded 20 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Whitby's Boyd Diclemente stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Fury registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
