Whitby blows out Trenton, 4-0

The Whitby Fury had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Trenton Golden Hawks.

The win gave Whitby a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Fury were led by Greg Milner, who registered one goal. Milner scored on the power play 10:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Whitby had taken the advantage when Trenton's Fabrizio Ricci got sent off for roughing. Adam Clements provided the assist.

The Fury's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Trenton power plays.

Others who scored for Whitby included Mike Panowyk, Henry Thompson, and Mitch Emerson, who each put in one. More assists for Whitby came via Taylor Best, who had three and Marcus Crawford, Jeff Murray, Marco Azzano, and Sean Darroch, who contributed one each.

Tyler Feaver rejected 19 shots on goal for Whitby. The Fury incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Golden Hawks' starting goalie, Denny Dubblestyne, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Connor Hughes, who stopped 10 shots. Trenton incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. For the Golden Hawks, Chrisitian Lloyd was ejected from the game.
