Cobourg's Grande deadly on offense in 5-0 win against Wellington

Liam Grande was all over the ice for the Cobourg Cougars, as he tallied two goals in Cobourg's 5-0 win over the Wellington Dukes.

Grande's tallies came on the power play at 1:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg and on the power play 17:54 into the first to make the score 2-0 Cobourg.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Wellington faces elimination next time out.

The Cougars were boosted by Nathan Perry, who turned in a shutout with 29 saves. Perry certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.83 entering the contest.

Cobourg excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Cougars got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Cobourg additionally got points from Landon Schiller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cobourg included Ryan Logan and Kenzie Smith, who each put in one. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Connor Armour, who had one, Mason Marchment, who had two, and Alex D Oliveira, who had three.

Cobourg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Dukes' starting goalie, Tyson Teichmann, made 18 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Taylor Welsh, who stopped five shots. Wellington incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
