Toronto Lakeshore survives Toronto comeback, wins 4-3Westwood Arena Sat, Mar 01, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Toronto Junior Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots held on for a 4-3 victory. Toronto Lakeshore made the score 4-2 on a goal by Brandon Willett at 17:01 in the third period, and Toronto got as close as 4-3 when Aaron Spivak scored 17:33 into the third period. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, the Junior Canadiens face elimination next time out. Willett had two goals to lead the Patriots to victory. Toronto was unable to stop Toronto Lakeshore from sending pucks towards the net, and the Patriots eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Toronto Lakeshore also had goals scored by Nicholas Ursitti and Kevin Shier, who scored one goal each. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Nathan Feric, Doug Bonar, and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one. Others who scored for Toronto included Mark Spadafora and Connor Prudames, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto received assists from Aaron Thow, Ryan MacSpadyen, Cody Thompson, Nicholas Jarzabek, and Anthony Repaci, who contributed one each. Evan Buitenhuis recorded 16 saves for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michael Bullion made 34 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 38 shots. Toronto incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Junior Canadiens, MacSpadyen was ejected from the game.
