Toronto Lakeshore rips Toronto, 7-1

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots were firing on all cylinders against the Toronto Junior Canadiens, and when the final buzzer sounded Patriots emerged with a 7-1 win.

The win gave Toronto Lakeshore a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Nathan Feric was all over the ice for the Patriots, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Feric scored 13:13 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Michael Prapavessis picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:00 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Toronto Lakeshore forced Junior Canadiens' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. Daniel Lopapa made 14 stops and Michael Bullion made 14.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Marcus Rose, who also registered one goal and one assist, Doug Bonar, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Rory Bell, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Toronto Lakeshore included Alex Grose, Niko Kovachis, and Jacob Hayhurst, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Kevin Shier, who had two and Cory Lauer, Andreas Tsogkas, Luke Carter, Robert Powers, and Quinn Syrydiuk, who contributed one each.

Toronto was led by Nicholas Jarzabek, who scored the team's only goal. Jarzabek scored 3:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto. Connor Prudames assisted on the tally.

Evan Buitenhuis made 19 saves for the Patriots on 20 shots. Toronto Lakeshore totaled 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Team's Kovachis and Brandon Willett were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Junior Canadiens totaled 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Toronto, Cody Thompson and Daniel Harquail were ejected from the contest.
