Mole leads Dundas to shutout victory over Stoney CreekJL Grightmire Arena Fri, Mar 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Mike Mole recorded a shutout against the Stoney Creek Generals as the Dundas Real McCoys picked up a 4-0 win. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Stoney Creek faces elimination next time out. Dundas' penalty kill excelled, as the Real McCoys gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays. Dundas stifled the Generals' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stoney Creek was unable to stop the Real McCoys from sending pucks towards the net, and Dundas eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Real McCoys were helped by Jeff White, who had one goal. White scored 4:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Nick Smith assisted on the tally. Scott Mifsud also scored for Dundas. In addition, Dundas received assists from Darryl Smith, who had two and Cam Watson and Matthew Smith, who contributed one each. The Generals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dundas power plays. Stoney Creek forced Dundas goalie Mole to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Mole recorded 33 saves for the Real McCoys. Dundas incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Generals' Daniel Svedin stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Stoney Creek incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
