Toronto downs Oakville in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Aaron Thow gave the Toronto Junior Canadiens a 6-5 (OT) victory over the Oakville Blades when he scored 4:59 into the extra period.

With three goals and three assists between them, Aaron Spivak and Anthony Repaci teamed up to power Toronto's offense. Spivak registered two goals and one assist and Repaci also notched one goal and two assists.

The Junior Canadiens forced Oakville goalie Mark Manolescu to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Toronto's goal total was higher than its season average. The Junior Canadiens have scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Toronto additionally got points from Connor Prudames, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Repaci, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kennedy Duguid also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Mark Spadafora, Sal Filice, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who contributed one a piece.

The Blades' offense rang up 56 shots on Toronto's net.

Oakville was helped by Dalton Bew, who tallied two goals. Bew scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 17:21 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A head contact penalty on Dante Cannatella had put the Blades on the power play. Vince Palermo assisted on the tally. Bew's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with five seconds left in the second period. Oakville found itself down a man on Palermo's high sticking. Ross Sloan picked up the assist. Oakville also got points from Kris Bennett, who also registered one goal and one assist and Palermo, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Chris Poletek as well. More assists for Oakville came via Greg Allen, David Dischiavi, and Joe Seney, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Canadiens' Daniel Lopapa stopped 51 shots out of the 56 that he faced. Toronto totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Junior Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cannatella was ejected from the game. Manolescu rejected 32 shots on goal for the Blades. Oakville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
