WHITBY survives NEPEAN comeback, wins 3-1

NEPEAN tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but WHITBY would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

A goal by Megan Sullivan (A) put WHITBY up 3-0 in the second period, but NEPEAN pulled to within two on Blake Orosz's tally 16:53 into the third period.

The win gave WHITBY a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

WHITBY was sparked by Kirsten Welsh, who tallied one goal. Welsh scored 14:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 WHITBY.

Rhyen McGill also scored for WHITBY. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Emily Volpe, Hailey Noronha (C), Alana Sims, and Meagan Picco, who contributed one each.

More assists for NEPEAN came via Jenna MacDonald and Alyssa Baker, who each chipped in one.

Hannah Baker made 22 saves for WHITBY on 23 shots. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Megan Halhed took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Kira Bombay who made three saves. NEPEAN incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
