Renfrew Timberwolves survives penalties, beats Shawville Pontiacs, 6-3

Shawville Pontiacs failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Renfrew Timberwolves shook off a number of penalties to win, 6-3.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Shawville Pontiacs faces elimination next time out.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Renfrew Timberwolves was helped by Alex Campbell, who finished with one goal. Campbell scored 11:39 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Renfrew Timberwolves. Troy Taylor provided the assist. Renfrew Timberwolves additionally got points from Luke Lapierre, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Tyler MacDonald, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Renfrew Timberwolves also had goals scored by Teddy Suckow, Colin Bradbury, and Sean Kyte, who each put in one. In addition, Renfrew Timberwolves received assists from Michael Minns, who had three and Issac Anderson, Ryan Patrick, and Scott Conroy, who each chipped in one.

Shawville Pontiacs was helped by Mathew Labrosse, who registered three goals. More assists for Shawville Pontiacs came via Dylan Scott, who had one, Liam Poirier, who had two, and Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who had three.

Matt Gagne recorded 23 saves for Renfrew Timberwolves. Renfrew Timberwolves totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Renfrew Timberwolves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bradbury was ejected from the game. Joshua Horner took the loss and made three saves before being replaced by Trevor McGee who made 15 saves. Shawville Pontiacs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
