The Uxbridge Bruins tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Clarington Eagles held on for a 5-4 victory.

Clarington took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have Uxbridge storm back on a Connor Beck goal 16:58 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, the Bruins face elimination next time out.

Brent Hambly was all over the ice for the Eagles, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Hambly scored at 6:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington and again while 5:49 into the third to make the score 3-3.

Clarington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Uxbridge was unable to stop the Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Clarington eventually piled up 54 shots on goal.

Clarington also got points from Blane Gaudon, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Clarington also had goals scored by Dylan Howorko and Riley OConnell, who scored one goal each. More assists for Clarington came via Mitchell Marchbank, Mackenzie Morissette, Jake Choiniere, and Rory Craddock, who each chipped in one.

The Bruins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Clarington power plays. Uxbridge forced the Eagles goalie Connor Visca to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

The Bruins were led by Jarett Smith, who racked up two goals and two assists. Smith scored the first of his two goals at 1:10 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Smith's next tally made the score 3-2 Uxbridge with 9:30 left in the second period. Matt Allen assisted on the tally. Matt Trudel also scored for Uxbridge. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Carter Vahey, who had one and Connor Miller, who had two.

Connor Visca made 43 saves for Clarington on 47 shots. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cody Northover recorded 49 saves for Uxbridge. The Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
