A stellar performance between the pipes by Josh Astorino helped the Grimsby Peach Kings defeat the Dundas Blues, 2-1. The win by Grimsby clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Peach Kings were sparked by Matthew Paonessa, who finished with one goal. Paonessa scored on the power play 12:14 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Grimsby. Grimsby had taken the advantage when Dundas' Alex Aquin got sent off for holding. Jordan McCarl assisted on the tally. The Peach Kings kept the Blues' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Novak made 36 saves on 38 shots. Nicholas Briggs also scored for Grimsby. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Jeromy Hopkins, Andrew McMurtrie, and Cooper Nauboris, who each chipped in one. Grimsby was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Dundas was led by Cody Carey, who scored the team's only goal. Carey scored on the power play 12:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Blues earned a power play opportunity when Aiden Board was put in the box for tripping. Nick McMullen picked up the assist. The Peach Kings' Astorino stopped 34 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Grimsby incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dundas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
