Huge game by Knott boosts Dundas over Grimsby, 7-2

Behind a great game by Brayden Knott, who had two goals and two assists, the Dundas Blues defeated the Grimsby Peach Kings, 7-2.

Knott found the back of the net 1:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas and again while on the power play 15:05 into the first to make the score 3-1 Dundas.

With the win, Dundas evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Blues made Peach Kings' goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 37 shots and forcing 30 saves. Josh Astorino made 11 stops and Mitch Mathieu made 19.

Dundas also got points from Dan Pelosini, who also had one goal and one assist, Alex Panov, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Cam McConnell, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Alex Aquin also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Kevin Jaczenko, who had two and Cody Carey, Thomas Dowling, Matt Johnson, and Garret Incze, who each chipped in one.

Grimsby kept Dundas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Novak made 46 saves on 48 shots.

The Peach Kings were led by Jeromy Hopkins, who grabbed two goals. Hopkins scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Grimsby had gotten the advantage when the Blues' Tyler Jones was sent off for tripping. Colin Wierts assisted on the tally. Hopkins' next tally on the power play made the score 7-3 Dundas with 30 seconds left in the third period. Andrew McMurtrie picked up the assist. Grimsby additionally got points from Wierts, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Trevor McEneny and Damien Alfieri, who contributed one a piece.

Dundas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Peach Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
