Moore nets hat trick, leads Little Britain to 9-6 win over Georgina

Kurtis Moore lifted the Little Britain Merchants to a 9-6 victory with a hat trick against the Georgina Ice.

Moore got on the scoresheet 15:00 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:44 into the third and at 10:52 into the third.

Georgina's power play was ineffective against Little Britain's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Ice were unable to stop the Merchants from sending pucks towards the net, and Little Britain eventually piled up 56 shots on goal. The Merchants surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Little Britain averages 3.0 goals per game. The Merchants took advantage of Georgina's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. Little Britain could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain additionally got points from Mitch Brown, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Aidan Renouf, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Riley Jenkins, who also registered one goal and one assist. Little Britain also had goals scored by Kyle ODonnell, who had two and Lucas Hickey and Alex Moore, who each put in one. More assists for Little Britain came via Terry Snoddon, who had two and Curtis Lee, Ben Marquis, Brett Doble, Rory McDowell, and Garrett Haden, who each chipped in one.

The Ice's offense rang up 42 shots on the Merchants' net. Georgina bested its season scoring average. The Ice have scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Georgina was led by Carver Ormiston, who had two goals and two assists. Ormiston scored the first of his two goals at 8:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgina. Brett Theissen picked up the assist. Ormiston's next tally made the score 9-7 Little Britain with 3:36 left in the third period. A kneeing penalty on Jesse Beers had put the Ice on the power play. Theissen assisted on the tally. Georgina also got points from Aidan Comparelli, who also racked up three goals and one assist, Theissen, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Jody Nonnewitz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Georgina received assists from McKenzie Gray and Brandon Basler, who contributed one a piece.

Haden recorded 36 saves for Little Britain. Georgina's Tyler Richardson stopped 47 shots out of the 56 that he faced. The Ice incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
