A hat trick by Richard Brooks was the highlight in Mounties' 11-1 win against the Delhi Travellers. Brooks got on the scoresheet 1:33 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:58 into the second and at 14:35 into the second.The win gave the Paris Mounties a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The game was close after the first frame, but Paris banged in five goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Delhi. The Mounties made Travellers' netminders to work in net, firing 48 shots and forcing 37 saves. Nick Heath made 26 stops and Jordan Ironside made 11. Paris' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Delhi power plays. Paris additionally got points from Clayton Chalmers, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Ian Fowler, who also registered two goals and one assist. Paris also got a goal from Merrit Crumback as well. In addition, Paris received assists from Brodie Smith, who had three, Mitchell Harvey, Zack Skubnik, Matthew Small, and Brett Wilson, who contributed one a piece, and Brian Mueller and Jacob Norcott, who each chipped in two. The Travellers were led by Brendan Schreider, who scored the team's only goal. Schreider scored 13:53 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Brad Ward picked up the assist. The Mounties' Zach Schompe stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Paris incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Delhi incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Travellers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and New Player was ejected from the game.
